Parent Course: Transition to High School

Orientation days are full of information and for kids with literacy difficulties, it can feel like too much, too fast. In this video, we’ll unpack how to make orientation meaningful for your child by:

  • Preparing questions for the initial meeting with the school.

  • Identifying who your key contact people will be.

  • Exploring what “extra transition” time could look like and how to ask for it.

  • Using tools like photo books or slideshows to help your child feel comfortable before day one.

The focus here is to reduce overwhelm and give your child a sense of familiarity and confidence before school begins.
